One way for us to overcome ostracization of our families with special needs is to bring awareness to our communities. It is our responsibility as a community to support those among us who may have a special needs child or family member. That is why we created this Special Needs Toolkit, in order to provide community leaders and members with information to promote awareness, inclusivity and acceptance. This booklet features an introduction to terminology, important topics to address and know and ḥadīth related to special needs and disabilities.
